Background

Dr. Teahon grew up on a farm and ranch in northern Custer County. Dr. Teahon joined the University after spending 34 years in public schools as a teacher, 主要, and 20 years as a superintendent.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics 教育 from Kearney State College in 1985 and his master’s degree in 教育al 政府 from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 1994. After serving as a high school 主要 for five years, he returned to bet36365体育 to complete an 教育al specialist degree in 1999 and moved into a superintendent role. The final 18 years of his public-school service were spent as superintendent of Gothenburg Public Schools located an hour west of Kearney.

Dr. Teahon has been very active in numerous statewide organizations. He served many years on the Executive Board of the Nebraska Council of School Administrators (NCSA) being selected as Chair for the 2015-2015 year. 此外,Dr。. Teahon was honored by his peers being selected as the 2018 Nebraska Superintendent of the Year in the Nebraska Association of School Administrators(美国国家航空航天局). He remains active in various organizations including NCSA, 美国国家航空航天局, Greater Nebraska Superintendents (GNS), and Western Nebraska Administrators (WNA).

Dr. Teahon became full-time faculty in 2019 after teaching adjunct courses for seven years. He is an Associate Professor and currently serves as Department Chair. He teaches in various courses in 教育al administration including School 业务 Management, Supervision of Instruction, School Administrator and the Law, Public School Finance, Field Study and he manages internships.

Dr. Teahon and his wife, 凯利, have been married for over 35 years and were blessed with four children and multiple grandchildren. Hobbies include watching high school and college sports, playing golf and bicycling, and reading. His passions include spending time with grandchildren and family, working and enhancing leadership capacity in schools, and promoting public schools and early childhood 教育.
